You’re jabbering away in English and your children are trying to communicate in Italian or Spanish. So, what happens when your child doesn’t speak the same ‘love language’ as you?
Firstly – don’t blame yourself! It’s common for families to have children who each speak a different language (sweet …). What we need to realise is that we have to go back to school … ‘language translation school’!
You may be able to relate. A sticker chart works wonders with child 1, but it’s all about a high five or a really excited, “Amazing!” with child 2. Neither of them respond particularly well if you mix the languages up.
Here’s how to begin learning the love language they speak, and build a happier household in the process!
